I have a turbo LXL (this is a 7th gen's brazilian model ) and i need to replace the ring & pinion because i want to revv lower at 5th gear. I travel a lot (3 times a week)

The ratio from my final drive is 4,411 and from HX is 3,842.

I searched about this and there are 2 threads, but no one told me HOW to do this and WHAT parts will I need.

Is the countershaft and gear, final driven the same that ring & pinion ?

Will I need anything else ?

Someone here already did this swap ?

uhh.. its cheaper just to buy and swap the tranny

I think it's cheaper when you live in US. I live in Brazil and we don't have HX here. I will import parts from US to do this. So i think it's easier swap just ring & pinion.

So, Is the countershaft and gear, final driven the same that ring & pinion ?

Where can i find a HX tranny ? And how much ?

i have a hx tranny. i dont know if i can ship it to brazil though. i used to love the 5th gear in my hx... such good gas mileage. anyway. i'll get rid of the tranny cheap. get at me and we'll talk
