Theres no negatives for the AEM EMS other than that its expensive and not everyone can tune it. It is a standalone, you tune it how you want and it STAYS that way, no stock ECU that works against it. It can set your own rev limiter, boost control based on gears, 2-step launch control to name a few. These things the Emanage can't do.
The Emanage piggybacks the stock ecu, essentially "tricking" it by intercepting the voltages that the stock ECU sends to the motor, changes them based on your input. The problem being is that the ECU fights back the changes you make making your tuning a big headache. Its a good setup for the basic booster but I wouldnt recommend it if you plan on going above and beyond 8-9 psi or 200+ hp.
Bottom line you get what you pay for. Theres a reason why the AEM is $1600(?). Figure out your goals for the setup then start from there. The AEM will always be the better choice over every piggyback hands down. The adjustability is just unmatched.

u can run 10psi fine with emanage and u can make 200+whp but EMS is the better of the two. i run emanage now and it works fine for me. i recently went ultimate too and am waiting to get the car back from the shop.
