CRV engine in a 7th gen?
CRV engine in a 7th gen?
Well I was driving my moms crv today and I noticed wow this car has i-vtec 2.4 liter engine. (Around 160 horsepower). While I was driving I noticed. WOW if a k20 from a rex can fit in here I wonder if a CRV engine can? I mean think about it they make the crv in maunel! Anyways Ive been looking all over for some info about it. Thanks appreciate it. below is a pic of it and some info. Have a happy new years everyone
****INFO******
The 2002-06 Honda CR-V comes with one of the most advanced engine in class - the 2.4-liter, 16-valve, DOHC 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine with aluminum cylinder head and aluminum block with cast-in iron liners. This engine produces 160-horsepower at 6000 rpm, and 162-lb.-ft. of torque at 3600 rpm.
The i-VTEC technology combines VTC (Variable Timing Control), which continuously adjusts camshaft phase, with Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) that changes valve lift, timing and duration, increasing airflow into the cylinder and boosting performance at high rpm. There is no timing belt, a long-lasting timing chain is used instead, eliminating the need for periodic timing belt replacement.

[/IMG] It's called a frankenstien swap, and trust me you'll never have it cause you don't know jack **** about swapping an engine to car since all you can do is post up a spec sheet.
And wtf does the crv not being manual have to do with anything? you either use the 5spd tranny from si or rsx if you boost or 6 spd from rsx-s if you go n/a.

i hope he meant to say k20 from an rsx and not rex. never known a crx to have a k20. anyway, yes it will work. heres a little info. be good for you to read. hope this will answer a few questions for you. k24/k20 hybrid doesnt talk about swapping one into a 7thgen but does talk about whats needed and whats good to have. as long as you learn something its not a total waste to read.
