Hi Im Matt AKA Turbo.. I own a 04 civic VP.. used the car as a guini pig just help out other civic owners.. This is what i did..
All the turbo kits eliminate the A/C and I know i like my A/C and I hate useing all those rubber couplers to hold the boost lines and ****..Hate useing aluminum piping cause it rubs through.. Thus to solve my problem I developed a Custom one off turbo kit that only i can reproduce .
I custom made my headers to position the turbo just right to beable to keep my A/C components and my radiator fans while useing a T3/ T4 turbo.. the kit is welded ouside the car and slids right into place with out any mods required i was very surprised... still keep the bumper brace while useing a good size intercooler... The kit is in the final stages of completion. Intercooler lines are made from 321 stainless steel tig welded joints.
My kit uses a standard intercool ya know In onone side out on the other.. Other kits uses a single side both lines on one side of the car..limits the cooling of the compressed air.. For fuel control i am useing a Greddy Emange Ultimate ( tunable on the fly) The only Piggy back that cen control the Ignition timing on Individual Coil packs..
No mods to install the kit i developed.. . Im trying to put the kit together and sell it for about 2,500 or 3,000 It includes.
Headers, TIAL Waste gate ,Boost Controller, Turbo , Intercooler and lines, Oil lines , Injectors , Greddy Emange unltimate, Exhaust, gauges. Its a complete kit. Able to procduce about 300+ horsepower on stock internals at 10 Psi capable of more horsepower if internals are dont ie pistons and rods...Soon to come is an Intake Manifold... I said on stock everything on a D17A non Vtec you can push 308 at the wheels on 10 psi and a return fuel line to the tank plus fuel pressure reg.. I am running greddy emanage unltimate.. When the car is done i will post a dyno sheet for all you non believers... trust me when i Sohc is better than a DOHC Ie K20 I mean it.... It cost 10,000 for a the K20 swap done right... not rigged.... Why do that when you can spend about 3,000 and push power on a SOHC and have less headaches... SOHC are easy to work on and better for boost... Theres one SOHC D17 in orlando runnin 628WHP on 26PSI on just rods pistons and cylinder deck brace.. Yeah it suck cause no one makes **** for the D17a but Im changin that shyt... Ill pics up tommorrow... 4 civic in south FL runnin 308 to 315 WHP on 10-15 psi on stock motor just upgrade fuel and computer and ARP head Studs.. These motor stock have Dished pistons perfect for boost..

Rep Power: 255 ok 1) i wouldnt run a piggy back on a built motor on 10psi...i would hope you would run aem ems... and 2) i dont doubt you can make 308 on a d at 10psi, but it wont last...

Rep Power: 0 on 10 psi the motor will last forever it proven by greddy and hks.. trust me man as long as the oil is changed and the motor is maintained and the kit is done right...how do you post pic i posted some but it aint workin

SOHC on boost are takin SRT4s with aftermarket turbo upgrade ... im gonna shut up ill get some proof of this next friday at the race meet...

but yet stil any SOHC built gets its little bitch *** handed to them by the BIG BROTHER OF ALL HONDA MOTORS!!! K24... I doubt anyway in hell your puny little D17 could beat a turbo k24a1 or k24a2... or even a BUILT ALL MOTOR k24..... and in a couple months if you want to Drive to Southern oregon So i can Eat up a Yummy little D17 SOHC i would be glad to.
Oh and Look at this a K24 n/A no turbo is putting down the same amount of HP as your TURBO D17.... HAHA... Just face it bro D17's and not where the power is at... this is on 91 pump GAS TOO!!!!!!!! in CA.. props to "the tea-father" on K20A.org

Rep Power: 255 hey im not doubting you on the 308 @ 10psi on a D17, cause i have seen a bone stock z6 hit 400 on 27psi...just need a really good tune...just post pics thats all
but i just dont think 600+ hp is possible at 26psi...
and i agree keep SOHC alive...a lot of people underestimate built turbo d's
