exactly. after 6250 rpm, the torque drops like none other. there is no reason for that car to be revving that high besides for the fact that he can
show me a high revving motor that build tq past 8000 rpm and then your statements might have a slight bit of validity to them

On the note of high reving power, there is no need to rev to 7K or more if you do not have supporting modifications. End of story. You need the proper air flow! Head work, valve jobs, valves, valve springs, retainers, intake manifold, exhaust manifold etc are all a must to support the power.
Also turbocharger characterisitics will also play a huge role in reving that high. If you have a larger turbo that is rather laggy, you can use the EXTRA revs to support that peaking power and broader power band.
Note: Gearing plays a huge role in this too. I was having a similar discussion about this with a VW Corrado and Chevy Cobalt SS owner.
Prime example of this:

and what difference does it matter hoow much psi you have to run to reach a certain power? psi is a completely irrelivent term considering i could be making the same power that i am right now at a lower psi if i had a bigger turbo. so how is that credible?

i was just thinking, there has to be some civics in the 400whp range, and then this thread pops up lol. thats an amazing job and looks like done the right way too instead of leaving parts stock and hoping they wont break later.
Good point.
This guys work helps me, because i know now that I can boost 25 psi with less chances of breaking my motor next time I tune.
I got just about the same internals and intakes.
I'll on the 400whp range no prob
Our d17's are evolving nicely.

Man did you guys see this sick 450hp on 15 psi?

Oh wait that's a Kseries, my fault
Sorry. I had to do that.

Something I was thinking about. I was talking with Doug at Hondata this afternoon and something just occurred to me. I figured that Trick Engineering might have a load bearing dyno, so I went to their site and sure enough, they do.
What does that mean exactly? Well a load bearing dyno will give you roughly 40 whp over a dynojet will. Ok, so? While these numbers are awesome and it definitely took some work to get here, these numbers are closer to 355 whp than 400. Just occurred to me because he's selling his car for anyone who was interested to know.

IDK Andy, they tuned my car at 202ish at about 5.5psi with that dyno then I took it to 2 other dynos that read about 212 in about the same temp humidity. If TE tuned that car it most likely is legit. I'll be back there some time in the next couple months, they were on the money with my car and it stayed together even through all the crap I put that stock motor through. I can vouch that they dont fudge numbers to make people happy.

There is gl@ss in my @SS...
