OK my synchro is messed up and since i got the tranny rebuild 2 years ago, what do you guys think about swapping in a used tranny from a junk yard? I'll be putting it in myself so basically buying the used tranny would be $399 and if i get another rebuild with this guy i know it would run around $1200 again.

how in the world are you driving your car?!? sounds like you are just flying through transmissions. but a junkyard tranny definitely sounds like the way to go just pray you get one in good shape with low miles

Is this an auto? If so, do a manual swap and save yourself some headache if you're going to replace it anyways. Spend that extra 1200 on other parts instead.

hahahaha, no trust me she can drive stick . Well without the rebuild it would be undrivable. But i'm just going to buy the used tranny. When i am in the car with her when shes driving she does fine. I really think that she let her dad drive it, because he beats on cars like theres no tomorrow. When i had the Mr2 spyder he was beating on it, with me in it. It was horrible.

When you rebuilt your tranny did you have an lsd swap in it or is that even possible to put lsd in our trannys.

yeah 1200 on rebuild sounds weird to me. just look at it this way, used tranny is messed up spend another 399 to get another and if thats messed up spend 399 to buy another one and then you will have spent 1200, of course not all 3 trannys would be messed up unless god hates you

I spent the 1200 back when I was desperate, lazy and stupid. I didn't do any research and i basically took it up the *** for the rebuild and clutch, when i could have went out and bought a used tranny and installed it all on my own.

Hey your not the only one with tranny problems. Im on my 3rd tranny. Drive it very nice and easy. Honda replaced 2 of them for me and now i paid for the 3rd one.
