So I'm working on building a block/head for turbo setup. Ive got a DX, but recently purchased an EX head so that i can get cams/valve-train etc.
My question is, what is the most horsepower I could get from my engine with the head-swap ( assuming i got a cam, cam gear, and the Apexi vafc, or w/e its called)?
Turbo looks like it would be rather fun to build/drive, but I have other things I need to spend money on. So I might just windup n/a depending on how much HP i could possibly get out of it.
If possible....I'd really like to get around 160hp
full list of mods would be:
intake,
headers,
exhaust (no-cat...straight pipes?),
dx->EX head swap,
Crower Cam(not sure which one yet)
AEM cam-gear possibly,
and possibly crower valve train, pending on the cam i get.

if you get everything available off the shelf for the d17 I would say 170bhp is the limit and that's being very generous. stg 3 cam, with aem ems, cai, straight pipes, high flow race header, d16 intake manifold, crower crank, lightweight flywheel, basically everything. It will cost a lot, in fact so much that a swap will look much better once you start pricing parts.

I think I'm doing pretty decent as-is right now.
Last time I went to the track (right after I put my headers on - but throwing a CEL for primary 02) I was running better times than an 04 base-automatic RSX (by about .5-1.5 seconds)
and now that I've got my 02 fixed again, I want to go back to the track when I have time, to see what I'm running now.
edit: the 17.7254 @ w/e was when I was stock. The time I was racing the RSX I was hitting high 16's
Edit#2: With the crower stage2 N/A cam, would that make the car idle pretty rough?
