v v v v low numbers...
hmm.guess its a td035.
stock from the factory suggest its 110bhp.
fuel. running 98 octane. vr4 injectors. management is crap. mt4. microtech which does fuel alteration only. but it cant be that low right... wheres the choke pt?

Charge pipe leaks, old/restricted air filter, restricted exhaust....
Not sure about his injectors, but a/f might be pig rich....
@ ~6psi/td035/crap fuel system (fuel adjustment only) I'm guessing ~140whp for LX and ~150whp for EX.
These are my estimates.

First thing is, He was tuned on a Dynamometer. So was I. I drive a Subaru with 250/250 at factory ratings.
With a DP, CAI, custom tune, I am at 193whp, and 238 ft/lb. If I went to another dyno, I am quite confident that my numbers would be more like 260whp and 280 ft/lb at least with the same tune Im running now. most people achieve around 300+whp and ft/lb with LESS mods and worse tuners than i used, lol. Dynamometers are very underrated, go check out Dyno info online. Tell him to go to the track if he wants to feel better about his turbo. Than hell see how fast it really is.
edit - Oh, and my car is a 2.5L Turbo Boxer Engine. The turbo is a VF40, which is much bigger than my T25. Its intercooled, and boosting up to 18.5psi. it was at 12 stock. So dont go by dyno numbers. They are so different from one kind to another. Just go to the track for real. I know with all the extra power I gained, there is no way its under 250/250 w.

Crush bent is restrictive, but it would probably not produce that low of numbers. Probably a leak or poor air flow due to IC piping or bad tune or the dyno or a combination of the four. What about his intake pipe to the turbo, what is like?

Its hard to judge whats wrong, more info needed on the set up.
But something is wrong for sure - hp die right after 5000rpm.
p.s. The dyno graps shows measurments in Metric system, not Imperial.
Is your frined in N.America and has d17 Civic?

I think the biggest thing is the dyno. I was expecting more power than people with the same mods on my car. I expected around 300 give or take 10-15 whp and ft/lb. A semi heavily modded STi would make way over 300whp, from what Ive seen. I only had 238 ft/lb and 193 or so whp.
My friends STi after 3 or 4 tunes, only makes around 300whp. On another dyno, I am quite sure he is closer to 400, and I am closer to 300.
Power should not fall off after 5000 that badly though. Some yes, the turbo will be out of breath, and will lose a lb or two by redline from fully spooled. My car stock, was at 13.5psi, and would drop to...let me find my dyno sheet...under 11psi. Around 10.8. Now, I hold boost better with my tune, but it goes from 17psi to 12.5. Still gets out of breath by the end of the rpms. A larger turbo will hold better to redline, but wont spool as quick
From looking at that dyno sheet, I would recommend him to find another tuner.
here are my sheets, Ill show you what I mean. The first is A/F and Boost. So you can see how out of whack a/f was before my tune. Its the solid blue line. dotted is after tune, and the reds are psi of boost. The solid blue was stock a/f on my Subaru Look how much nicer the dotted blue is after the tune.

Now the next pic is my powerband. Even with my bad a/f, the stock tune was pretty smooth of a power curve. It just took longer to get there. With the new a/f and the new boost/power, it comes on much faster, and still VERY smooth. I think they could have done a better job, but not too sure about civics. I never got sheets when my civic was tuned.
Mine

His

But i think it should be a much smoother powercurve, his goes up and down pretty quick it seems.
What gear did they do the tune in? a higher gear will see more boost much quicker/easier. 3rd is a good one, IMO.

^^
Sorry, confused.
Do you mean tuned was done running in 1st gear?
If it is so, than it explains a lot.
Just saying, best runs done in 4th gear (5 spd box). 4th usualy has ratio very close to 1.00

update.
yeah. it as tuned using the 4th gear. which makes it even worse for making such low numbers.
and how can u tell whether a setup is sufferin frm a leak??
any areas i can help him pin pt the prob?

Possibilty if the clutch? My buddies chart looked similar with the drop off..
Check for boost leaks, and minor stuff first. Don't blow hundreds because someone told you it MIGHT be a clutch, lol.
Do tell him to go to the track... that will help him figure it out.
