Hey. I have plans to do a K20 swap on my EM2. I've done the research on the engine swap, know how much it's gonna cost. around $8000. but my real question is...

i got an incredible deal on the car, the only drawback is it's an automatic. how much more work would this be during the swap. I'm buying the car off my dad in a couple months, so I wont be doing the swap for a while. Would it be worth it to swap to 5spd while i'm saving up for the K20? Or just keep it automatic until i get the K20 and 6spd?

any opinions?

wait for the k20 and 6 speed... no need to waste money for a manual transmission now if your going to do it later

Just keep it automatic until you get the K20. Unless you desperately want to drive a stick then get a d17.

I'm in the same postion as you. automatic and saving up for a k20 swap, i'm keeping it auto 'till i do it because the money you spend on swapping a 5 speed will draw you back quite a bit and you're gonna regret spending money on something you'll just get rid of pretty soo.

do what my bud did to his 6th gen.. keep the auto till u swap and right befor u swap beat the tranny for fun...NO dont do that lol. but ya man save yo cash
