I have the Greddy profect E-01 and the boost is reading at 8psi which is what I have it set to at the moment but mu boost gauge and my TSI injection control unit is reading 11psi? I have no idea what is going on. The greddy pressure sensor and the boostgauge are all connected to the same line. Any Ideas. I know that the pressure sensor came with its own t-fitting with some little brass nipple thing in the end of the t-fitting. Could that be the problem. The car feels like it is running at 8psi but why are the others reading at 11psi? Please help.

some pressure senders and guages arent very accurate.
Which brand guage is it? Is it mechanical or electric? And what brand MAP sensor does the TSI unit use?
I would probably listen to the majority of the guages.

I use the same boost controller with a autometer colbat boost gauge and mine runs the same on both. My friends integra with the same boost controller with a cheap boost gauge is off all the time by like 2 psi.

Think of it this way.... You have 4 egt guages in your airplane (atleast i do). You are flying at 6,000 ft, and all of a sudden 3 of your 4 guages start to show that you are running at 1400* instead of 800*.
What do you do?
Even though one of them still says you are safe, you back the throttle off until it is within reasonable parameters.
I would turn the boost down until you have something proving what your true boost level is.

I have the electric Autometer C2 gauges. I have to double check. I think the only one that is reading off now is the TSI gauge. If so I'll just use a clamp to restrict the air going to the TSI pressure sensor till it reads the same. Thanks a bunch guys. I was pulling my hair out for a min.

well my TSI controller read what was displayed on my gauge so something is strange. I never seen a tsi boost gauge unless you are speaking of the controller unit that connects to the MAP box etc.

I don't want to kill this thread but I also have the Eo-1 boost controller. I have power running to it but I stll didn't connect the solenoid valve and the pressure sensor. For the pressure sensor did you guys tap into the boost gauge vaccum line or to something else. If I were you I would trust the Eo-1 boost reading over the other two readings. I know my Defi gauge reads exactly the psi as my Tial wastegate spring which is 5.8 PSI, it just stays right underneath the 6 when I punch it. Good luck with everything.

^^
Chief is talking about TSI controller box boost gauge.
Mechanical gages are not as accurate as electrinic gauges.
But problem with tsi electo gauge is - it doesnt have decimal, it can only read a straight number, 1,2,3...8,9....
So the actual 8psi can be either 7.7 or 8.4 or 8.5, so this is where difference come from.
So, crewchief's 11psi, could well be 10.5 rounded up to 11, and I'm not sure with profec, but if it doesnt have decimals on readout it may also show rounded up figures...

Ok guys thatnks for all your help. I messed around with the Profect today and took it all the way down to 6psi which is the wastegate spring rate and all 3 gauges read 6psi. hmmm now i'm confused. So i will mess around with it some more. Not really sure what is going on so ya. I'll keep everyone informed.

My e-01 is the other way around it reads crazy amounts when my autometer reads like 8. They will both read 8 at times and then i let off the gas and the e-01 goes all the way up to like 13 or something. Supposebly though the e-01 is more accurate. it also says my max boost is 13.6 and it didn't feel like i have ever ran that much
