We were going to have a strategy weekend to figure out what we needed to do (and buy last minute), install stuff we could put in (I might have an interfooler for a few days), then do the big work and hope it works, if not, at least have a handle on the problem. My biggest fear is electronic gizmos and getting the thing to start and keep itself running long enough to get it somewhere that knows how to play with the computer. Mechanically, I've got a handle on fixing problems.
Thankfully, I take the train to work and if it doesn't run, I'll just have it towed to the shop and not worry about anything but the price to make it run.

Well I was going to wait until I had a huge pile of parts then just post that, but I'm gonna need some answers, so I figured I'd just break the news.

Ok... basic parts list (because I don't know everything yet). I guarantee some stuff will change, but the big stuff probably won't.
To keep the car from blowing up, I'm going with the standard issue Boost upgrades, K-series injectors, in my case TSX 340s and E-manage with the Dezod full PNP harness. Simple, it works well and I don't have to screw with a lot of things.
For pressure, I just gotta go with some good ****. Garrett's GT28R. Oil and water cooled, inconel impellers, the works. Internally wastegated and set to a happy 7 PSI.
Simplicity rules the rest of this. HKS manifold, which I'm sending to get Jet Hot coated, we're making a downpipe to mate the turbo to the stock downpipe somewhere under the engine (we'll just cut and weld to fit. I'm keeping the stock cat and all emissions hardware in place (DC/VA emissions). Side mount intercooler (I'm thinking on the order of 8x10x3.5) kinda where the battery tray used to be (right side, down below, just infront of the wheel but not in the bumper cavity), it'll be ducted for clean air flow from under the car, DIY charge piping. I'm going to use a Diverter Valve (AKA Recirculating Valve) and purge excess boost back into the turbo inlet. Its quieter and it keeps the turbo spooled up between gears.
The car already has an oil cooler, I have no worries about overheating at all.
I'll probably run stainless oil lines and rubber water lines.
My Defi-link has a good handle on monitoring things, I'll add a boost gauge and an AEM Uego to keep an eye on more stuff.

Hmmmm. Most BOV's offer a recirculation valve and hose. Also if you have an open element filter, even though you are reciruclating, you will get some noise, in some cases justa s loud as atmospheric BOV's. Don't ask me how it works, but I've heard both a covered filter and an open element with a recirc, and the covered one is muffled, but the open element sounds a little loud....

Damn, everyone is going boost these days.
I've been boosted for almost 2 yrs and I had fun. I wish i could get rid of it now, because i am bored with my car.

I knew what he was doing when he bought my TSX injectors.
Boilmaker Dont go With a HKS manifold I had one they are ****... There is soo little room for your turbo and waste that you will have to cut some front core bracing... it sucks.

In the picture it doesn't look like that close of a fit, but the pic is zoomed in quite a bit. Tom I looked at your pictures and it looked like it fit fine, unless you did some severe hammer work that I didn't notice.
