Who's got a turbo that has to pass emissions?
Question 1, does it pass (and with flying colors)?
2 is how do they do the inspection?
Around here its the OBD scan, but I don't know if it just shows error codes or numeric values of stuff. I know people have gotten swapped cars through around here, and there's more than a few modified cars running around, so its doable, I'm just curious how.
The other thing is... how hard did you have to tune it to get it to pass if it failed the first time... basically, will a well tuned car pass with just as easy flying colors as a plain old one (assuming all stock emissions hardware is kept)?

if you live in california...
forget about passing if you have a turbo kit... you will fail visual inspection for sure and unless you have a good catalytic converter, you're not going to pass the tailpipe emissions test either...
you can always pay a smog guy off, but that's illegal and the shop owner can be fined 50,000 dollars and get his smog testing license taken away...

here in boise they only do an OBD2 scan and thats it, it looks for 8 things and you can only fail 3 of the eight. I havent had mine tested yet, but it should pass easily. Worse case senario , swap the old cat/manifold on and retest. later tonight if i remember ill see if i can find the list that they look for with the scan

I think the only way to pass is to have friends who do inspections. That way they can "overlook" the visual part and just do the OBDII scanning. Don't throw and codes and you will pass.

Well if you come to where I live, Tawakoni, they just start the car and drive it 10 feet and then make sure the horn works and they give you the sticker. Got to love small towns where no one gives a ****.

Here In Puerto Rico I know a friend that can make my car's inspection for free without even inspecting it, his father runs the shop that makes the inspections :P

here in cali if your car is less than 6 years old than you dont need a smog test until that is up...than u need a smog test and its easy to find places that do illegal smog checks
certain counties in NC require emmissions test, but if you live in a rural area they do a safety inspection. in my county (wake) i found out that if i did a swap on my car to a k20 it wont pass inspection, said that they have to have the engine that the car comes with. that sucks hardcore.
