carbon fiber..?
I have an SF kit that I got a little while ago, but it still hasn't been installed due to time, or rather, the lack thereof that the good ol' navy gives me..
i've also been looking to get into carbon fiber fabrication/overlays (again, time permitting..)
i've been looking at the DIY guides on www.synapsemotorsport.com and the 2nd tutorial has a guide to mold and fabricate your own CF tubing using existing tubing.
now, assuming i have the time and money to do so, for both show and somewhat functional purposes (and the fact that i [heart] carbon fiber, lol), could carbon fiber charge piping (hell, all the piping for the kit..) for the turbo kit handle the pressure (and prolly the heat, which shouldn't be a problem..) that is created by the turbo setup? or would it just be too costly and stupid to even attempt..?

just because yours cracked doesnt mean all of it will.
northrop was engineering the F18 to have a full carbon fiber rear section (from wings back). It passed every stress test they threw at it. The only thing that made it fail was the dB test. Thats right, sound. They tested it inside a concrete sound bunker. And at several thousand decibles, the structure collapsed. Couldnt take the extreme vibration.
now, your civic will NEVER put it under stress like that.
If it is ALMOST good enough to be put to use on an attack aircraft, then its good enough to put in your car.

here's the link for all you curious types.. i may practice making the piping out of fiberglass for now, just because it's cheaper and easier to find.. fiberglass cloth should act similar to carbon fiber cloth..
