If you dont want both, then $150 for the ported, and $50 for the stock one.
A ported EX head would be better in the long run for a built motor. Thats why i swapped. I simply want the stage 3 crower cam. They dont make that for an LX. Plus i got a good deal on the motor.
If i was not going to try to make over 400 whp, then i probably would have stuck with the LX head. I think that i could have made well over 300 whp with the ported head i have. But i am greedy, and i want 425 or more whp.

Ask yourself if you belive this guy, if will finish the kit and if will keep all his promices. The price he quoted you - about $2000 USD - is ok, as long as he doesnt include his labor costs and gives you decent fuel system.
If you belive him, go ahead.
Its your call.
Keep us posted.

yeap .. im going to try to negociate something first or else I dono if Ill go through with this .. many experienced people told me that they are trust worthy and they have been in business for many years now.. I'll ask him if I can get a different turbo and different fuel system .. i dont mind paying the extras as long as he still doesnt charge me the labor .. plus hes giving the magnaflow exhaust for 500$ CND = 420 U$, I was kinda hoping to get at least 170-180 WHP at 7 PSI (+/-).. Ill keep everyone posted and thanks to everyone that helped me out thru this

1) I want my injectors changed and a piggyback system, preferably e manage
and that I was willing to buy the injectors as long as he installed them (free labor)
2) I would rather a different turbo, a lil bigger even if it is a lil more expensive
3) I want all contracts signed during my 1st deposit concerning his responsibilities; thats mostly for my security.
I sent the msg yesterday night .. i expected an answer today at the end of the day but still nothing
Lol he wrote back but he almost ignored the main reason of my message..
he sayd the can bring the boost at a higher level since itll blow up my engine.. thats true, but i didnt ask him to bring the boost up.. i asked for a bigger turbo than the K03 one .. so I re wrote to him telling him that im willing to have the K03 since no one has done it yet on a 7th so ill tell u guys bout the results under the condition I get a piggyback (emanage preferably) and rsx type s injectors .. im willing to buy them .. just want him to install them free of labor! Ill keep everyone informed...

the K04 is the standard bolt-on upgrade for the jetta 1.8T's that people use. Its like the difference between a t3 and a t3/t4. Its a minor difference that allows for better high range power.
I just remembered one other thing, the guy told me he needed to remove the A/C during the installation and put it back on but when hell do that, ill loose the A/C gaz, so the refill will be arround 100$CND.. it there a way to avoid this?

Wrong........the manifold won't bolt up to our block. Also the piping will be wrong unless they are custom making it.
Now i know why he is using a fpr since the 6thgens have a return fuel system.

The stock FPR is on the pump in the tank.
yes^ plenty of people have to my knowledge done that. and i dont see why he has to remove the a/c anything but ive never fabbed up a turbo kit so i dunno. you could just hold off until the summer to recharge the a/c refrigerant. and there is a diy on 7thgen that allows you to turn off the a/c while your defrost is on. that way you dont burn the ac compressor.

I read in one of the threads that there is very little space there so if the manifold isnt very well done, im going to have to loose the A/C. Now hes gonna take it off to install everything but put it back on after finishing. I bet the guy is getting sick of me cuz ive been pretty demanding on the piggyback stuff and the rsx s injectors hehe

you never know
