Honda r18 pic!

I found a picture of the new r18 if anyone hasnt seen it. I guess its a 1.8 liter sohc I-vtec. Someone tell me if those are individual throttle bodies on top. I wasnt able to read the HP rating because 95% of the article was in chinese. I dunno the engine looks weird. Maybe it will be a future swap.

the r18 is the new ex motor. It has 140 hp. Why would u swap that into your car when u could swap a k motor in. I don't even think itll fit the 7thgen body anyway.

Vantage should not be trusted
This is the quote about it in the latest edition of honda tuning.

ALSO your pic IS of the hybrid engine NOT the R18

"When the new Civic coupe and sedan hits showrooms this fall, it will pack a 1.8-liter SOHC iVTEC underhood. With 140hp at 6300rpm and 128 lb-ft at 4300, Honda's lastest econo-powerplant might just make us forget about the tired 1.7-liter in the current Civic and bring performance up to sililar competitors like the Mazda 3'(150hp), Chevy Cobalt (145hp), and Ford Focus (136hp).
The new engine is shorter, lighter and quieter than the current 1.7 due to aluminum rocker arms, silent cam chain, and high-strength cracked connecting rods. A 81.0 x 87.3 bore and stroke, 10.5 compression ratio, variable-length intake manifold for higher torque, and pistion oil jets add up to a serious evolution of the single-cam package many of us have come to love.
The close-coupled cat positioned right after the header complicates things a bit, but not beyond some ingenuity. In stock form, the car and high-precision air/fuel ration control puts the engine below ULEV-2/Tier 2 Bin five emission levels in all 50 states."

Your welcome!

that motor does not have ITB's. Just look at it, you can see the intake manifold.

I looked at one of these motors up close the other day. It looks like Honda integrated a MAF into the system along with the ever-present MAP sensor, probably to get it even more hippie friendly.

Also, they did the same thing with the cylinder head as they did with the accord V6 motor. There arent individual exhaust ports anymore. They share one common port into the catalytic converter.

The bolt pattern is almost close enough to bolt a T3 directly to the head. Now wouldnt that be nice of honda?

OMG! TURBO R18 in a 7th gen! It'll get more power... maybe they'll release more mods for it. Maybe the block is stronger. Never know, you know there is a reason people swap their d16's for zc's and such, to get more power out of a turbo set up. So this is one way to look at it. Plus it would be a heck of alot cheaper to swap a R18 then a K20.

who even knows how the r18 will mount. Give the K20a3's a few years and it will be just as dirt cheap as b16's, and K20a1's and K20z's will be like b18c1's and b18c5's. Just gotta play the waiting game.

seeing as the Si and Ex have the same body style and such. I'm sure the r18 will mount just like a k20 would in our cars.

^^^ Honda/Acura just release the k series not too long ago.
You may be right the price will go down on k series. but not for a very LONG time.

Look at those b16s and b18 s, they still holds their value.
Also a b18c1 gsr 2k+.
