SLP Return Kit help! *update 8/26/05*
UPDATE: SEE LAST POST.
I installed my slp return kit yesterday.. got everything hooked up but when i go to start it, it won't start. Doesnt seem to be getting fuel pressure. When you Put the ignition on. is the fuel supposed to start flowing? The fuel pressure gauge is reading 0. I hear the pump turn on when i turn the ignition on but it wont start. Does the fuel pressure regulator in the tank need to be bypassed? i'm really stumped on what the problem is. I tried to contact Jeff from streetlevelperformance but i havent gotten a response yet. Any body got any suggestions?

what happens is the pump build pressure it goes out the black hose in picture, into the filter(main hosing at top) the second fitting (stainless steel hose) must be capped off or all pressure will just dump back into the tank. There will be pressure in that stainless steel hose so it must be a good conection that wont leak.

damn wtf? still no pressure.. i dont understand it, i removed the stock fpr all my connections are right and it still doesnt get pressure, i even tried the stock fuel pump and still nothing.
Did you test the pump before putting it in the tank? Becuase I have heard that if this done without submerging it, it will burn the motor out. I am total noob when it comes to performance upgrades or motor work but, I have asked around about this very subject becuase I wanted to what you guys did.
Ps. I would take it out get a bucket fill it with gas and see for your self that its pumping the right way and not leaking back into the tank, I know its alot work but you'll know for sure thats its not the pump.

well, you said the pump turns on when you first turn the key on, thats a plus! Only thing i can suggest is take the assembly out and look it over to see if you can figure out whats up. Any way you can take apicture of how its set up ?

streetlevelperformance.com but it doesnt really give install instructions. it just lists what is included in the kit.

assuming it looks like the above, then next question is at the regulator. The hose coming off of the fuel rail goes to one of the side inputs of the regulator, then the return to the tank comes off the bottom of the regulator, plug the other side port and i assume there is a gauge in the small pipe fitting on the front of the regulator. Next step is tunr the key on and adjust the pressure. This may take some cycling of the key on and off a few times to get the pressure set with the car not running. Once you have SOME pressure at the regulator then start the car and adjust it to desired pressure.

ok everything is exact as pictured above.. still no pressure.. how long does it take "cylcing of the key" to notice any pressure at all?

i did try adjusting the **** many times but still same effect. 0 pressure.. i even tried the stock pump with this setup and i get the same effect 0 pressure.. i had to put everything back to working order because i need my car drivable this week. it will not be until two weeks that i try this again so we have 2 weeks to come to a solution. hopefully we can get this figured out.

well i got to talking with jeff @ streetlevel. I flow tested the fpr and the stainless steal lines for blockage and everything was alright.. the only thing left that it could be is that the pump is getting blocked some how from the way its sitting in the cage so i'll end up taking it out again to readjust the fitment. this wont be until 2 weeks however. i'll update this post with some pics and more info and probably do a DIY since no one has done one yet. wish me luck
