RPMs not Getting Above 4,000RPM!?
RPMs not Getting Above 4,000RPM!?
I just got my set up done (TSI T25BB Extreme with eManage, TurboXS HP Boost Controller, and Apexi Turbo Timer), and everything was great until after I finished running on the highway for about 30 minutes. Then, when I mashed on the gas and the rev got right at 4,000 RPM, it started cutting off and not going above 4,000 RPMs.
I have an auto (go figure), and it is exactly like when I used to rev the engine while in PARK, and it would only go up to like 5,500 RPMs then start fluttering. But I'm on the road this time.
It only does it after I've been on the road for 20 or 30 minutes. Anyone know what it could be?

I have a cel. I have a TSI kit. I just check the left over parts, and it looks like the shop didn't install the TSI Black Box. Is that what's doing it? Will installing that fix it? What all do I have to wire that too? I need as much info as possible to take to the shop since they didn't put it on anyways. Probably didn't knwo what it was for.
No idea what the tsi black box is....maybe a resistor box for injectors? If you aren't using saturated injectors, you need a resistor box for your injectors. I know nothing about what tsi uses in their kits.

and just so you guys know, what the black box is, is basically a missing link. You can use one or the other, just so the MAP doesnt see boost. Im suprised your car is even running w/out it. My car didnt want to do anything but die on me.
Had my shop put on the Black Box. Car got messed up. eManage blew, spark plugs fried.
Spoke to Greddy, they said that with the eManage, Missing Link is not needed because there is an option in the eManage that takes care of that. He walked me through reseting the eManage (thank God). Soaked my plugs in fuel injector cleaner. They're fine.
Turned out to be loose wires to my injectors and a O2 sensor popped out. Imagine that...

Anyways, yeah, if you don't have anything for the map sensor, you need to put something in there right away. Then, like kickoo said, disconnect the negative terminal from the battery for 60 seconds and plug it back in. Problem should go away after that.
