Automatic Tranny Prob

[COLOR=Sienna]I have a 02 Civic Ex automatic with a T3 turbo. I am wondering how i get my bov hooked up right so it lets the pressure off when i change gears. Right now it only blows-off when i let off the throttle

in an auto since you're on the throttle when it shifts it never sees enough vacum for the BOV to open, only way would be to lift your foot of the throttle....

Are you sure there is no vacuum line i can run to the transmission or an upgrade available so i dont have to let off the throttle? Cause right now my light on the shift indicator blinks too..........Anything will help.

WTF, what do you mean your light on the shift indicator blinks, you shoulden't even have one because your an auto. Mex is right above, you will never hear the bov when your car changes gears becasue the throttle body never fully closes. Just let off the gas to hear the noise, youll save your tranny that way also because then you wont be shifting under boost. =)

The light i am talking about is in the middle of your gauge cluster in the dash that shows which gear you pulled the shift handle into. But when i get a load on it with the turbo at about 6-8 pounds it starts to blink. The D

Do you not let off the gas any when it changes gears??? Also does your slip and what tranny upgrades have you done? Do you have an upgraded valve body?

^^What he said. You need a way to make the transmission shift gears more aggressively so that you are not slipping while boosting, of course if you're racing you could manually shift. I knew for the Ford Focus they had a module you could install that would increase the fluid pressure for the automatic trannys to make for a firmer shift. Do they not have these for the Civic transmission?

my boosteed auto doesn't do that (blink)??? It most be tranny slipping real bad for it to start blinking. I would recommed a tranny cooler.
In the furture you may want to think about manual converation. I did it and feel a big different.

Install a tranny cooler & change the fluid to B&M trick shift......I drove daily boosted on my auto @ 8.5 PSI.....never had ANY problems with the tranny. No blinks either....

i got a tranny cooler already and just had a new transmission put in because the old one went out for no reason. It was weird. When it changes gears i can hear it trying to engage but it is like i am barely letting the clutch out if i had one.

Is there a valve body upgrade anywhere for the civic yet.

that was funny. Make the BOV go off when you shift gears, not let off the gas, haha. Do you know how a BOV works?? As the TB closes (while shifting in manual), it forces the extra pressure out of the BOV. If you dont let off the gas, and you stay at WOT, it will keep going into the motor, not out the BOV. hehe. I thought this was funny.

Hey dumbass i got an automatic so i dont let off the gas when i change gears. Are you ****ing stupid or something. Thats why toe BOV wont open cause the vacuum line on my throttle doesn't vacuum since it dont close.

If you want to hear the bov when racing, get a manual. If not there's nothing you can do about it. simple as that..
