Rep Power: 0 K20A2 swap is getting done on May 30th. I have a question though.
Ok i am doing a K20A2 swap May 30th. My engine is ordered and everything. I have an automatic 01 civic and i'm concerned about the gauge cluster and center console. More than likely i will replace the gauge cluster with a manual gauge cluster. Can the automatic center console work when its converted to a maunal? I want to make it look like its from the factory.
ALSO....the shop doing the swap said he can use the motor mounts on our civic now for the K20A2...is that possible? He quoted me 5700 to do the K20A2 swap along with the manual swap parts and labor. The $5700 is without motor mounts included...should i be looking forward in forking another 450 for some HAsport motor mounts on top of that 5700?

Rep Power: 0 Its cheaper to get a manual cluster for our civic. I know it wont read right on the tach still but it wont bother me too much...I may put a after market tach in front of the factory tach. I just want to get rid of my gay automatic cluster.

Rep Power: 0 street sports? I'm from louisville, KY....autolab is doing this swap for me. They did a K20A DC5 swap in a del sol...I seen the del sol and it's pretty sweet. I drooled when i saw the DC5 engine in there. They also did some K20A2 swaps in older model integras and civics but not a 7th gen yet.

Rep Power: 0 rebuild the D17? i dunno. My engine has 120,000 miles on it. Plus its an automatic. I thought about getting the K20A dc5 but i dont want to deal with emissions testing if i ever move somewhere that had it.

Rep Power: 0 i think you should get the hasport mounts.. just to be on the safe side..u dont want anything going wrong when u get that new beefer engine in there..and you want something that will give it a firm hold when moving..

i really doubt the motor mounts for the d17 will fit the k20.. but im not 100 percent sure..but im pretty sure they wont work because the different engines have different points where they are mounted... but im not sure.. ask a couple people that actually have the swap..

Rep Power: 0 Its impossible to fit the D17 mount on a K20. The rear one on the subframe MUST be a k20 one...the driver one may be fit but is a cheap soft rubber mount, the engine will move a lot. The passager mount its simply impossible to fit.
Go with the hasport, the engine clearence is praticaly inexitent near the intake manifold (something like quater inches). The hasport is stiffer and you engine will get a better response when you put the trottle down.
PS Be carefull with the axles. Get a Teg 94-01 for the passager side (I think is the teg driver side...) and an RSX one for the driver side with civic hub. I try 5 different axles for my driver side....and no one make job...
Driver side test axles...
Integra 94+ (Very too short)
Civic Si 02+ (The same as the Teg)
Civic 01+ (Tranny hub won't fit on the shaft)
Civic 90 (best fitment for today, the 2 hub fit...but need 1 inches more on the shaft)
More to come this week :P

Rep Power: 380 don't worry about the cluster, it will work fine, the lights on the cluster just wont be off...
with the center, just get a manual shift boot, it just goes in there like you originally had a shift boot.
get 02 si axles, they work fine
get hasport mounts
trust me, i had a auto 01 ex coupe, now i have 6 speeds... muahaha...
