Rep Power: 0 Cost of a K20A swap
I have been researching and am thinking around 7K if I DIY and 8K if I have a shop do it. Is this reasonable or am I still thinking to low?? Note: that it is the K20A not the A2, I really think that it would be worth the extra $ to have LSD and 20hp.

i agree 100%......obviously if you have boost in your future, then the a2 would be a better option.

Rep Power: 266 I think your going to spend a minimum of 8k for the engine. thats the range i calculated it to be with the lsd and type-r engine k20a. Id rather pay for the type-r too
thats with all the little extra stuff you will need to buy during your swap.

Rep Power: 0 my only concern now is that after alot of $ and work I have the car handling like a dream, but the extra weight in the front is going to through off my spring rates and I may have to get different springs for my Teins.

Rep Power: 0 I just did a k20a in my car. I got the whole swap for $4400 (but this was discounted, threw a friends account at H motors.com) then I sold the 5 lug axles and put in 94-01 Integra GSR axles (fits great) I went with the GSR ones because they are only $120 for both at Napa. Vs. 02-03 civic si or a 5 lug swap (more $$$). I mostly see k20a swaps go for 5500-6300. The usually have everything you need. Also Hasport mounts are easy to get off eBay for $375-$475 (new) I got mine for 400 (new) on eBay.
Also you could do what my buddy is doing. He got a k20a3 swap off eBay for $2000, everything he needed, for 2k. And only 7k miles on it. He is going to drive that until he gets some more cash, then he is going to swap the pistons, crank, final drive gear and head. Total he has priced those parts at about $1500 (some used some new) and k20 lsd at $500 when he dose all this he will have a k20a at only 3500-4000 (but only 5 speed but with gears 1-3 the same as the type r)

Rep Power: 0 What about using a k24 block, would it be pricier, if say you use a diferent head like a k20a3 or a2 one, since you have to switch the ecu too,

Rep Power: 0 The TSX one has higher compression pistons, that makes more power. The only advantage of useing a CRV, Accord, Element Block is cost. The TSX has the advantage in power.
Here is a Compression Ratio break down of all the K motors.
DC5 Type R K20A - 11.5:1
RSX Type S K20A2 - 11.0:1
RSX/Civic Si K20A3 - 9.8:1
Honda CRV K24A1 - 9.6:1
Acura TSX K24A2 - 10.5:1
Element K24A4 - 9.7:1

Rep Power: 306 it's not the spring rates that matter so much. but as a coincidence, rsx springs have higher rates. used springs can be had for like $100 or less. or buy stock type s springs for real cheap as a holdover for coilovers.
