Im in the middle of my turbo install and would like to know what you guys used for a cat. Since mine car is a dx the cat is removed. Now i have talked with alot of people about the cheap obd1 car sound cats with the o2 sensor welded into it. WHat is your guys opnion on this? Magnaflow also has a new obd2 cat with the sensor holes already made install of having them welded on. IS there any difference in how the sensors will work? Dezod you input would be very helpful=)

I used a magnaflow hi flow cat, they welded it under the car between the downpipe and b-pipe. They welded a bung for the secondary o2, and I lengthened the wires for the sensor to reach further back. Just solder some new wire in between the stock ones to extend it. Thats what I did, CEL went on right when I started the car up. Drives nice, its very quiet, and doesnt smell constantly. that smell drove me nuts, plus my kids dont want to smell that.

Works nicely though, and if it does slow me down, it doesnt matter, cuz its a hellofalot faster than it was before.

yeah your going to need a spot for the primary 02 or your always going to have a cel. But I used a High flow cat with the o2 sensor bungs welded in already or you can just use a resinator.

DX/LX/HX/VP or EX?

As long as you have your 2 O2 sensors in place one before the cat, 1 after, you should not have a CEL. If you need an awesome super high flowing 2.5" Random Tech universal cat to weld into place, lemme know.

I got a cat to have my car be legal. That was my biggest issue, I cant pay fines, go to court, change parts around, etc, etc. So I just got a high flow cat put on.

It wasn't really meant as a sales pitch, but after reading it again, I guess it does sound like one.

They DO flow (some models 450-500 cfms). THAT'S a lot for a cat.

Nice. I may have to change sometime. Not now, I have too much other stuff to do for turning up the boost reliably. I have a new cat, so I cant change quite yet.
