some people say the k24 is pretty much maxed out, but the k20 has a lot of potential. The new hondata flash for the k24 looks promising.
This site has lots of good info on the difference's between the k24 and k20.

^^^ thats what i figured but at one point or another the k20's also required alot of customization im sure, so why not do that work to make the cheaper engine easier to install. but temjin makes good point

the k20 has a **** load of aftermarket support already and it is still a new engine.
ive seen frankenstiens with a k24 block and k20 head i think or maybe it was the other waaay around. it was for a full race setup though.. its been a while since ive been here so dont quote me on that

i read the faqs on the k20 site, basically if your going to go the frankenstein route with the k24, you have to build up your engine because there some conflicts since the k24 and k20 are designed slightly differently.
In the end, if your happy with 200hp and dont really plan on tuning it anymore, i think the k24 is a good choice because of the cheap price. If you want to tune your car after the swap, the k20 is a better choice, since there's already a huge aftermarket support and its most designed for high power output, then the torquely k24.
I'm betting that the new 8th si is going to use a k20a2, so when it comes out the price of the k20 is going to drop. The Si is more of a main stream car then the rsx so more people will be driving SI's then rsxs, so more people will crash them. Thus add more k20's into the market. Hopefully in a yr or two the price of k20's will go down and be closer to the price of b18's.

the aftermarket parts for the k20 are basically the same as a k24. just a tiny diffrence. intakes fit, the exaust has to be a little longer... but you can use hondata on both, they both use the same sensors... you can exchange exhausts/ intakes/ it has the basic same parts of a k20 jjsut maby a little bigger or longer internals.. blah blah blha

As for a tight fit, it was because the k24 manifold is 2 times the size as the k20 manifold.
As for cost u have to call "B series" the number is 760 752 1898, if u gusy want to check it out and are local (San Diego/ SoCal) call and check out the car..

i love how K20A.org has a forum that says "1992+ Civic EG / DC2 / EK / EP3 K-Series Swap" and Doesnt even list the EM2. I mean the EM2 was MEANT to take a K series. atleast moreso then any of the previous Gen civics or Integras.
It just shows how everyone really doesn't recognize us

the k24 was ALOT harsder to install then the K20. The person did it because of the $$ factor he saved about 1500 for going with the k24.
the head will be replaced with a built k20 head that is in the process of machine shop work rigth now.
its running on the stock EM2 ecu right now awaiting KPRO
as for teh k20 head on teh k24 block, its pretty much plug in play if u are familiar with a B series motors, its liek an LS-V, only easier

You should get the hondata for the k24. It has nice gains.
