SF FMU help

tonite (finally!!!!) i will be starting my turbo installation. everything looks pretty easy EXCEPT the SF FMU. my friends know a lot about turbo but they are kinda iffy on the fuel cuz of all of that wiring so i thought i would ask u guys for a little help. i searched on a DIY FMU installation but found nothing. If u dont already know, this FMU comes with an inline Walbro fuel pump. so even if u can get me just a few pointers on this it would greatly be appreciated. i will have a digital on hand so expect some pics

don't u mean that it comes with a inline carquest pump ???

do you have the black box ???

On the pump near the terminals you will see a positive and negative symbols. Hook the positive to a 12v switch power and then a ground.

If you have the black box, then there are 4 wires to hook up. Ground the black and run a ground to the neg terminal on the pump. Red wire in front of black box goes to a constant power (red left screw in your fuse box) The yellow or green wire, which ever it is goes to a 12v switch power. I used the yellow/green wire on my cig lighter. Red wire in the back of the black box goes to the + terminal on the pump.

For the fuel line.......find the fuel line coming from the firewall to the fuel rail and cut it somewhere in the middle. On the fmu, it should be labled "in" and "out". The hose from the firewall goes to the "in" and from the "out" to the fuel rail.

couple things............

the fuel pump will run anytime the key is turned on which is not good and will wear the pump out very fast. I burned up 3 pumps this way. You have 2 choices on how to fix this. The cheap way which is to install a toggle switch in the cabin of the car and turn on the pump whenever u reach boost. This is very annoying, cuz you are always flipping the switch. The proper way is to install a low pressure sensor in the charge pipe that will turn on the pump when you reach the set boost level on the sensor.

Hope this helps.......any questions just ask
