Nitrous and my clutch....
Nitrous and my clutch....
First off, I have search for this answer and can't find a straight one. I plan on installing a 50 shot NOS kit very shortly and I'm wondering how long my clutch might withstand this change? In other words, how long to I have to save until I can buy a performance clutch and flywheel? I know it all depends on driving conditions and so forth, but if I follow the rules, how long should my clutch be okay. It's currently got about 56K on it, I tend to drive pretty aggressively.

You kinda answered your own question there. It all depends mostly how you treat you clutch on a daily basis more than anything. When you spray, even on a 50 shot, your clutch will slip going into 3rd and 4th. If you beat on it everyday and you use your nitrous kit a lot, you could end up having to replace it within a few months or maybe even less. If you're using it just once in a while and your style of daily driving tends to be easy on the clutch, it will last a good while. I sprayed for a year using nothing but a 75 shot and my clutch is still grabbing good all motor, but its getting replaced as we speak anyway because a heavy duty clutch is pretty much a necessity.
thanks for the info...i probably dont drive on it as hard as i think, i try to be conscious of how i'm treating it, i don't hold it down at stop lights, etc. etc., i'm not even sure if that wears a clutch down, but someone told me it does and it can't hurt anything not holding it in, but anyways, i try to be nice, but sometimes i'm probably not...
