K20a3 with turbo

Does a K20a3 out of an si with a turbo set up sound like a good cost effecient swap? I looked at some of the kits that fit the Si itself and most claim nice hp tq lvls 240+ and 220+ i think been a bit, not sure how much modification needed if the engines in a 7th gen but nice power and relatively good price, any opinions on it welcome

a swap to a k20a3 isn't really that great as far as cost. close to the same price as the a2, minus 40hp. if you have an EX and swap the a k20a3.. you're spending a few grand for like 30hp. but it IS a better engine overall to mod. so it's up to you really. i wouldn't do it. if anything, go k20a2.

forgot who swapped it, but someone posted about doing the a3 swap and said it pulled nicely compared to his d and i only think he had basic mods.

I have a boosted A3 (base RSX) im my civic, and i love it. pulls very hard and has lots of tourqe. better than a D17 but not as good as the K20A2 but still a great swap. I just put the type S turbo kit on with K-pro. The kit bolts up with no clearance issues at all. If you can get the A3 at a decent price than i say go for it.

Alot of money for 20 hp over the a2 ,but its more of a status thing to me. I like how the type r is a great na engine with alot of potential out of the box though. But on ebay right now you can get a whole front clip from a type r for 5k so it all depends on finances.

a k20a3 from an SI will put out more power than one from an RSX when boosted. a K20A wont do so well with turbo due to its higher compression, you'd have to detune it just to make more power.

K20A3 turbo = 250hp +/-
k20A2 turbo = 280hp +/-

those figures are from my buddy who's like a honda bible. best turbo kit would be the cybernation one.

Are you kidding me?
d17 worth no more than $500.
I've seen low as $250 to 300.

No i didnt do the swap myself, Knowledge Peformance in Kennsaw did it, I just bought most of the parts and took it to them, but they were really slow.
