Angry 91 octane

how can I run 91 octane and not kill the motor. I have tried retarding the cam and nothing helps. I never had any problems running 100 in germany but in cali 91 is all you got. I can't even get to 2 psi without having problems. any help?

if all you were doin was running 100 octane then your car is used to that. And by goin to 91 octane its basically in shock due to the lower octane and running shitier. And you'll need to mess with ignition timing not cam timing

If you live close to an airport some of those gas stations carry higher octane so be on the look out. Do you use those octane boosters?

if you retard the cam timing, it retards the ignition timing in most cars. (havent played with a cam gear in this one).

Set your cam timing to zero. And if you have any ignition controls, set them to about where stock was. You should be able to run 7-8 psi on 91 octane with no problems with the stock timing curve.

yeah, and I saw somewhere on here that different countries have different ways of measuring their octane. So say your 100 or 101, could be like 91 or 93 here. The US has different ways of measuring everything from like every other country. So it makes sense.
