My auto tranny needs a rebuild and it will cost me too much, I was wondering if i would be able to get an LX standard tranny, if I can't find an EX strandard. Is there a difference ? I know how I need for a standard tranny already and will the ECU cause a problem ?

an ex tranny's gears are far more closer then an lx trans. But yes, it will work, an lx trans in an EX. I've thought about doing that myself a few times just to make daily driving funner. A quick spooling turbo on a small tranny sucks when you're not racing.

they want to charge me $3500 for a new tranny, or $2000 for a rebuild including parts.

I have a similar concern... I have an 01 dx, and we just put in an Ex engine, will this work? Dx trans with Ex.. dont Dx and Lx have the same trans? I guess will soon know, as soon as my APR head bolts get here, and we can put on the head! Oh and by the way, a buddy of my dads at amco transmission rebuilt mine including replacing 3rd gear for $300! Life with hook ups is sweet! hope it works! I would be happy with longer gears, cuz I have a turbo kit I'm putting on it!
