Im a Newbie member, have a 04 honda civic ex auto, and now want a 5 speed, how much does it cost for a swap, and what parts will I need for the swap, please list,

if you provide with parts is around $600-800 labors (in my area). If you need parts + labors is $1800. Those are the quote I got from around my area.

agree. for a 04 I would just go trade in. You probley get an even trade in (since auto is about ~1k more).
Plus you still got all of ur warrenty and stuff.

In illinois you can get it done for around $1000 (thats including tranny and labor) then you can sell your tranny so like 400 dollars would be recovered, you would also have to add miscaleanous (i cant spell) **** like clutch and shifter assembly and cables. it shouldnt be that much in the end

thats because chicago has more shops, then we have "custom" cars.

just go to a local honda dealership, and ask if I can trade my honda for exact same one but with a 5 speed.. even when I still havent paid the car off, how would the trade work??

trade it in while it still has some pretty good value or just use the car for dd and get a hatch and work on that. imo that would be smart.

you can find a honda with a swap already for pritty cheap if u can run into on i got a 89 honda civic 4 door for $250 it didnt run but it had a d15b japan v-tech in it and all i had to do is put the ECU fuse in it cuz it was blown

i told the guy and he was so pissed

ok, I email my local honda dealer, and they said yes, they could do a trade from a auto to 5 speed, but I would have to buy a new car, meaning sell my one honda to them get the money for it, and buy a new car again, and maybe paying for on top of that, so should I do it...

they probably even trade you a nice 03 model with low miles for you 04 auto. Probably even no money involved, or better yet. You can end up paying less all together.

Do it if you want 5 speed. Dont get a shop to do it, 1000 down the drain that can go toward a k20 or turbo

yea i have a 2k1 auto but it so boring...if its cheap enough i would like to drop an si motor and tranny in there just for more power and more response to mods..not sure though.

Same here, 2k1 dx auto, slow as hell, but I get to do sick stuff in the school parking lot.
