I have a tranny cooler but i never installed it, and with this amsoil stuff I may never need it since it withstands heat 10x better than oem.

I turbo'd my wifes car one night as a suprise (rebuilt K03 turbo, used powerstroke core, misc parts). It is a 1998 civic 4 door automatic. And on 7 psi of boost, she took out a new RSX-S 6-speed by at least 1.5 car lengths.
I definately believe that turboing any car is well worth it.
We did a Geo metro a while back. It didnt make insane power, but definately much more tolerable to drive than stock.

does anyone know if a 01 Civic EX with a turbo and fairly stock exhaust (all I have is a rear bolt on) would pass California smog??? Cuz I don't know about other people's states but we have all these friggin hippies here that won't let me do crap to my car cuz of smog so if anyone knows off the top of their head that would be great! thanks!

well lets see 12psi TSI Extreme Turbo kit on my 2002 EX Sedan Auto that has been rebuilt with the TCI Auto upgrade kit and stage 2/3 cv half shafts from driveshaft shop. As soon as all my work is complete i'm going to dyno tune and post up reviews and numbers.. for the most part I was smoking a rsx-s before I bumped the psi up

i'm thinking of getting a turbo on my 02 ex auto coupe. i just want a little more go, not looking for sports car acceleration or anything.
i normally drive the rpms upto 4500rpm in first gear, and occasionally 6000rpm or more when getting onto the interstate or passing a car or something, should i go for the turbo or will my heavy foot get me in trouble?
also, 93 octane isnt easy to find around here, will 91 be enough? what about oil changes, i hear that i need to do them every 1000 miles and i need to use synthetic? i know how much the kit cost, but i am looking at the long term investment, and whether its worth it or not.
thanks to anyone that answers these questions.

where did you get their upgrade kit. I can't find it online. I'm looking for kevlar bands and a new torque converter for it. the half shafts will prolly come later. also what do they rate the kit at i'm looking for 10 psi daily driving and running about 15 psi racing. i know thats a lot for the internals but planning on upping them too.

I am just talking out my ***, but figuring that you have a stock engine and mostly stock electronics.. shouldn't the car run just about the same as stock until the turbo has enough exhaust to spool? If the turbo is not boosting, the emissions I would think would be pretty close to stock. Maybe if you can get them to accelerate it up slowly to where you are not yet making boost... I'm sure dezod knows somthing about this. He seems to play around with turbos a lot.. try asking him?

^^Eventually you'd end up a full throttle, but even at 3/4 you run the chance of exiting vacuum
