turbo worth it for automatics?
turbo worth it for automatics?
Will an SF turbo kit make an automatic significantly faster?? How fast are we talking if so? Maybe like rsx-s speed? Also will you be able to pass emissions with turbo?

At most 150whp for an auto at 8psi. No it won't pass with turbo. Sf kit is garbage anyway, I think they're close to going out of business now that they have everyone's money and no kits being sent out. Go with the dezod.com kit that has been tested on an auto vic.

Is it worth it, yeah if moneys no object lol.. im doing it just to goof around ill prob blow something up then ill go buy a new car LOL
its gonna have to be worth it unless u wanna dump some more money into it to get a 5 spd put in. thast what i want to do first is swap trannies. right off the bat yur car will be quicker and be better off with turbo.
but the thing is, how many turbo'd AUTO vics to u see out there. almost next to none. only reason im stayin w/ my tranny is to juss stick with what was given to me and juss make my ride more enjoyable. u can get easily 200hp at the crank w/ a auto vic. tahts enough to keep up w/ my boyz brand now 330ci smg.

1) It does pass emissions, mine did.
2) It is faster than an RSX Type S, I've beaten two now.
3) The SF kit is not "garbage". I have one and it is pure quality. I have no complaints.
4) 150 HP is what the dezod kit got. I guarantee you that mine has a lot more than that. If not, explain my wins.
A turbo auto is a lot of fun. If you have an auto, and don't feel like spending a lot of money on crappy bolt ons, or don't want to do a tranny swap, I highly recommend putting a turbo on it.

I'm just telling what others have posted. A member running the sf turbo at 8psi posted a dyno of 148whp. And he complained that the tranny would always slip under boost, as have others. The last 10 people who ordered the kits had missing parts, broken parts, or a kit that could not even be installed. You must've gotten yours earlier when then still made good product. I'm glad at least yours is running well.
my sf kit is fine a few problems here and there but other then that its fine.
lets see its been a few months now been running it like heck every day and no tranny slipage yet. infact it shifts smother then before i put the turbo on (it was sliping a bit and slow responce so i was going to get a new tranny).
dont lissen to people that dont own an turboed auto no the tranny is not going to blow up. yes it will pass emisons (its burning up the extra junk that it would normaly be shooting out). also its hella fast for an auto car on only 5psi
some guy on here that i talk to on aim once in a while has had his running on 7psi every day for 9 months now and no problems at all with his tranny. they are not as weak as every one says they are.

Let me join the club for boosted autos
Gotti, you passed emissions? good news to me, since I hear they are more strict in PA about a passing grade than in VA.. or something. you still have the stock catalyctic converter? and are you using a breather filter?
as far as my turbo, I guess I can say it's running well. I've made a few posts about how my transmission is doing.. like it's borderline slipping. I just made the switch to Amsoil synthetic ATF so hopefully that will help.
i also just started getting a check engine light (aka malfunction indicator lamp i think) about 2-3 weeks ago (i've had the turbo for 4 months). it's an unusual pattern, like it will be on for 5 days, then turn off for 3-4, then back on for 2 days, off for 4, etc. maybe i need to replace the filter on my map sensor?
