Nitrous or Turbo? Which makes a civic faster?

Hey, Which would make a 2001 civic ex faster? A T3 Turbo or 55-75 ZEX Nitrous kit? How much horsepower would each add to the car also?

Depends on how much boost and what shot nitrous you get.

a 75 shot ownz the turbo unless you have a nicely tuned set up boosting 9psi or more. The nitrous driver better know how to drive though. because nitrous is harder to control on the street I think because the awesome low end torque. Your 1st gear is basically useless and 2nd cant be used on the drop of the hammer either when on the street. You have to wait until after your clutch has already engaged before you can hit the switch. Thats just my experience. I still think the nitrous driver has a damn good chance of winning. The turbo driver better be running pretty good with some decent boost to win. Lets say it was just a random encounter on the street like I have had on more than one occasion. The street is often not a 1/4 mile long before you have to slow down and call it quits. This is where the nitrous car has its greatest advantage. I'm not trying to promote any illegal street racing here guys. I'm just making a point. If you get caught its your fault and you better be ready to accept responsibility for your actions. Anyway, enough said.

If your running Nitrous on a civic, I would think that they would just be using a WOT switch instead of a manual one. That stuff is crazy if u don't know what ur doing.

As far as which one is better, I would have to say Turbo, just cause its not 600 dollars, and it involves some skillz.

Theres two switches on that same circuit basically. The WOT switch is only one of them. The other is inside the car.

I like nitrous, but I'm selling the nitrous kit because I wanna see what turbo in a civic feels like. I wont expect to be as fast as I was on the nitrous for a while, but I'm sure it will be fun to drive.

I have the same dilemma! Getting my ZEX Nitrous Kit in soon. Play around with that for a while and then maybe chuck a Turbo In see how she goes…..
