Heres a short clip of what i think is the best sounding BOV ever.
You cant hear it too good in the first clip, but the second you can hear it a little better in the second movie.
it is in quicktime format. Sorry guys, my camera is kinda cheap and only takes it in this format/quality.

it is a modified RFL. It kept getting stuck, so i took it apart and used a porting tool to round all the sharp edges, then used some 2200 on a drum sander to polish everything. Then i took the spring out, cut about 1/4 of it off, heat treated the top half to make it stiffer, then i added a second, harder, spring thats smaller than the first. The bov opens up about 1/8" really quick, then opens the rest of the way slower.
I havent heard a BOV even close to this one.
The exhaust is a straight through 2.5" off a 3" downpipe with no muffler. And that isnt the check engine light, thats the reserve light.

thats not the check engine light... SRS light if i'm not mistaken...
you were running low on gas on the second video homie... don't wanna get a fuel cut in the middle of boosting... hahaha...
that car doesn't look like it's moving as fast as it used to.... probably cause it's only boosting what the wastegate was originally set at... pooo... i never got to ride in it when it was at it's prime... booooo~

i have the HKS SSQV, i heard the hks race BOV, and the greddy type s, that video might not do it justice, but ive heard it on a DSM before the rfl, still not a fan i dont think
personally, I like the sound of the SSQV, the RFL is a great attention getter, but after 12# or so the spring starts to wear out quickly and leaks horribly after a couple months of use.
My reccomendation is to go with what suits you for sound until about 10#, then move on to pull-type BOVs to prevent boost leaks.
