13 sec 1/4

ok, here it is. I want to run 13's. Right when I bought my car I went all crazy and bought alot of stuff...intakes, lights, exhaust, shifters, yada yada yada. Some stuff I returned, some stuff i couldnt return, some stuff I kept. I want to learn from my mistakes and go for a good .25 time. What do you guys think? run 13psi boost? 75 shot n20? work on tires, lsd, weight reduction? all of the above? I understand that swaping will help me achieve 13s the quickest, but i have the urge to use the D17...

thanks for the input, just lookn for council in the planning stages...

13psi is high for our D17. You have to build you internal up to run it daily.
wouldn't recommand a 75 of n20 w/ turbo.

13's is not easy

only 3 members with d17's have done it and they all were boosted and are good drivers.

btw, i didnt mean to imply running boost AND spray, just bringing up seperate paths and questioning their individual effectivness...

run boost. are you wanting to run 13.s all the time? you would have to change your internals first. but you could run 14.6 daily and then 13.6 at the track. I run 9psi daily and 13psi at the track but you have to do a couple things to run 13psi. If you hit me up some time on any Messenger I can walk you through all you will have to do to run 13's at the track. Without changing internals.

I ran 14.44 @ 98.55 mph with a 2.34 60ft',75 shot, full interior, and on street tires. Since then I have gutted the rear half of my car, Have 14" brandnew drag radials that have never seen the pavement, and added tein basics. I think I'm only a new HD clutch away (at the most) from hitting 13s if I can clean up my 60ft' a lil. I'm gonna try sometime this season to see if I can hit 13's before I get the new clutch.

Just FYI, Nitro refers to Nitromethane, which fuels top-fuel dragsters.

Mr. Winfield....it wasnt from nitrous as everyone assumes. Some how this information was passed along without my knoledge. now I will adress the issue. My headgasket blew from the faulty radiator(cracked when lower core support bottomed out) and I drove 3 hours north then overheated my car. Even after I blew the h/g I still ran the **** out of it and sprayed it for like 3 days. Nitrous had no part in this malfunction. So if anyone has anything smart to say now they can kiss my ***. Sorry bro, but Im pretty tired of people making unducated assumtions. Anyways, cars goin back to stock and Im selling it, about time to get another real car, one thats actually fast when you spray or do alot of bolt ons....he hehe....and btw....its not that hard to get the 7thgens into 13's(or atleast high 13's) cause I trashed a few cars that ran that with my shot...justr etard cam timing 2 degrees and reset your fuel maps on the vafc and your golden....

i have a friend with a celica GTS with nothing more than an apex'i power FC, header, intake, drag radials, lightweight 16's, and some weight reduction. He makes 183 hp to the wheels and his fastest time was a 13.5 @ 103 mph.

You dont need insane horsepower to go 13's. You just need moderate power, good tires, and great driving skills. If it takes you more than 180 whp to go 13's, then you need some help.

I agree 100%...I pull cars all day that run high-mid 13's w/y my minor mods(well technically it is all bolt ons,lol)...just need a good launch..quick shifting...nice tires for hook-up...

That whp number for 13s I'm assuming is for cars that weigh sub 2600 lbs? My tC is pushin 2970, so a lil over 200whp should do the trick if I hook up...

wrod, when I say 13's Im saying HIGH HIGH HIGH HIGH 13.99 13's...lol....13 flat is gonna be a bit more tricky with the simple mods you listed...unless your going complete forged internals and a huge huge huge shot...
