Finaly boosting T-3/4 hybrid on build d17 internals(New pics of EL mani on post #36)
Ok Dynamic Speedlab returned my car tunned and boosting.
Dyno 200 hp 160 torque boosting 8psi.
Man, after running no turbo on low compression pistons I'm loving my ride now is just AWESOME.
I'll be running my car with this setting for the turbo brake in period.
The potential for this D17 build motor is 300 hp safely.
I'll need the AEM computer to reach this goal.
Although I'm building a street car, made to run reliably every day for a long time.
I'm not looking at braking any speed records or go street racing.
I'll like to thank the 7thgen and the turbo guys on this forum for sharing their very usefull information.
Dynamic Speedlab did a terrific job and I'll recomend them to work on our cars.
They are actually are making two versions of our manifolds.
http://dynamicspeedlab.com for more info.
Also Jeff at Street Level Performance for the excelent price and delivery of my Koyo radiator.

Congrats on finally gettin it finished. Though...my d series made about the same numbers (with about 10-20 more ft lb of tq) on stock internals. I really hate the torqueless wonders that Hondas are sometimes, and wonder if its ever really worth the money.
However, the benefit to internals would be of course...you can turn up the boost much higher. It would be good to see a d17 makin upwards of 300whp. Make sure you get some track times too, otherwise it would be a complete waste of money.
BTW....Is that a log style manifold i see?! Sure seems like it. I'm sure if you change that up to a custom, or equal length the rewards will be great, they've been proven on the dyno time and again in comparison to log manifolds. What trim size is the turbo. a/r?

im sure this was asked before, but what kind of intake manifold are you running? Looks like you adapted an older D series or an LS manifold. Something of that sort. Looks great!

I'm using a custom made log manifold.
I also have the equal length manifold that was made before we realized that the A/C have to be out of the car.
Like I said before I'm building a street car that would last me a long time not a race car that I'll have to be launching at the track all the time, it takes too much out of the car and will have to be repairing often. I drive my car daily so I'll like to keep my A/C.
I'm very happy with the numbers is putting out and I have no desire to upgrade it yet till a good computer is available.

No offense but, mine didn't come off a "kit" either. all my parts were custom fabricated. Manifold AND intercooler piping. In fact, it was the first to be made by those companies in So. FL (they used my car to make "jigs"). So...lets try not to get angry shall we?
All i'm saying is, you don't need to have a log style manifold to keep your a/c. One with runners that are a little longer (even if they aren't equal length) will surely help your performance.

Since everyone has been making a big deal about the classification of EL and log style lately, why are you calling your manifold a custom true equal length when its classified as a log style? It looks like a log style to me.

Oh sorry, I didnt realize we were still talkin about that particular manifold because you basically said in so many words you had written it off since you wouldnt be able to keep you a/c with it.

thats sick man...mad props. Its good someones into actually "doing" the possible rather than fighting over a D17 being able to make big numbers, etc. This is rad
