Rep Power: 0 well, florida isn't really considered part of the south as it doesn't really have the same past as say georgia, tenessee, alabama etc. and texas (or philly) definitely doesn't fit that term at all. just my $.02

My wife's in philly...I grew up in philly....living in the dirty south now..... Look at a globe or something....I'll email u some maps so you can see exactlly where south is and how far south texas is....

Rep Power: 0 dirty south......maybe. "southern hospitality" generally refers more to the previous slave holding states that were involved in the southern side on the civil war (texas although officially a part was only in its infancy)

You're right Florida doesnt exactly have the same past as the rest of the southern states, but I'm sure there are a lot of southerners here, especially in the northern part of the state, that would disagree with you saying that Florida isnt a part of the south when its located in the south along with the rest.
