Is it an EX? If so there are a couple of brackets that brace the tranny that you remove. Its nothing major, just a couple of bolts. If it still doesn't move, tap it with a rubber mallet until it comes off. The sealant they use at the factory sticks pretty good.
Dude....i did the whole kit myself...@ the age of 17.
All u gotta do is remove all the bolts. Then you remove the 2 or 3 tranny bracket housing things off. I also took off the black protector plate thing, it just seemed like it was in the way. Then you gotta pry on that thing until you break the seal. I mean, you really have to pry it. I put all my weight into it with a crowbar and finally broke it.
You just have to use some ***** when you're doing it, don't feel like you're going to break it. Just give it everything you got and that sucker will break lose.

crap.. I should have taken pics of what you have to do. I was kind of confused at first, but really, everything is just held on with bolts. there's 2 14mm, several 12mm, and several 10mm bolts. in the end you should take off 3-4 brackets, put the shift lever in 2nd gear, take off the bolt that's attached to the shift lever cable (the bronze piece that goes into the transmission-- there's a locking tab thing you have to pry up with a flathead or something), then remove the black inspection plate.
