turbo effects?
turbo effects?
Anyone know what the long term effects of putting a turbo on a stock 01 auto ex would be? Not sure if I would be pushing it close to blowing the engine, or if I could still use it as a daily driver.. It has about 38000 miles on it right now, I drive it probably 20miles a day, maybe 35 now that I'm moving further from work. Any info would help, thx.
I dont think there will be any damage if ur running low boost and You have proper cooling. Of course things will wear and tear alot faster because ur probly going to be toolin on it because of the turb.
when will someone make a supercharger for our cars? turbo is nice and you'll probably exerience problems when you're around 100k miles, but its fun...by the way my 91 mr2 turbo has 135k miles and still running strong on the same motor.
thanks for the info, doesn't sound like too bad of an idea, i don't have nearly enough for the turbo yet (probably wait on the ol' tax check
), are there any specific brands you guys might recommend? I live in indy so everything is spread a part, given the 15mile drive to and from work, and the weather of course is generally a little bit of everything, heat, snow (salt
), rain, etc... but this still seems a lot more affordable and reasonable then the k20 swap, if I had the k20 money, I suppose I would probably just buy a new car heh.

Turbo's kill engines from my experience. Even factory turbo'd cars usually only make it to 90K before you've got problems

The only way I see a supercharger being slightly more reliable is that the boost is more fixed than a turbocharger. My mazda blew because the boost went past 25 psi when it should have been running 20. You won't find the boost on a supercharger changing much. But on the flip side if you ever want to increase the boost on the SC you will need a new pulley.
