My car is getting surgery...
Today begins the open-heart surgery of my car. I dropped her off at a trusted local garage today. The operation will consist of:
* Pulling the head
* Replacing my cam seal
* Installing a Nippon leakless headgasket
* Installing forged 9:1 compression pistons
* New rings
* B&M polished racing tranny cooler
* Full Synthetic Mobil ATF
Thinking of getting a blockguard as well.

Get a valve cover gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, intake manifold gasket, and head gasket. You may need new rubber grommets/rings to seal around each spark plug area.
Anyone know where I can order some head studs? I ordered the gasket kit...came to $130. Ordered the pistons and rings....$530 + shipping.
I saw my pistons and rods today...every single piston was shot. The rings were like welded to the piston...the mech couldnt even pry them off. 75mm clearance. Its cool tho, the new pistons and rings are good to 22psi....so i shouldnt EVER have to worry about them going on me.

Where did you order the studs from? How much? Does anyone know if you can reuse ARP studs? Or are they still the stretch type? It seems like I heard you could reuse them.
Props Gotti

^ thanks man. I got them on ebay actually. Theres a seller there that 3 sets left for $91 shipped. I'm not really sure about re-using them. I hope to God that I never have to pull my head again...
