you dont want it to chirp. chriping is basically the tires spinning faster than the car is going causing a quick loss of traction which will in turn slow you down a bit.

Are you serious? That's how a car is made. And look you have a civic! It's not supposed to chirp anything.

still, you dont want to chirp. it slows you down cause the tires just spin. and thats what you got your BOV for anyways

ok ok... just to try and help the guy out guys, and provide him with some positive info and questions, first off...

yourinmyworld- you need to explain the prob more thoroughly, because like xproductions said it's normal obviously for a car to drop RPMS in between shifts... if they aren't quick shifts they are gonna drop farther, do you understand up to this point? please elaborate more... and c'mon guys just try ta help the guy out to an extent...

Oh okay. Did you get the a/f tuned yet? My car has a pause between shifting, but it's an auto.

chesireCAT is an unknown quantity at this point
last time i checked BOVs had nothing to do with wheel spin there main and only function is to prevent compressor surge when the throttle plate closes in between shifts the pressure has to go somewhere and if it is not let off by the BOV then it will surge the turbo causing a severe stall in the turbine and it will have to spool again!

i was saying he could get the chirping noise he was talkin about from his BOV so he should not be worrying about chirping the tires since that is bad anyways.

on a side note, lower tire pressure makes them easier to chirp

Don't be a jerk. He is obviously asking for assistance.

What he probably is trying to convey is that the car lags in acceleration. The RPM needle goes down more than it should;instead of the car accelerating right away, the RPM decreases dramatically before the car even moves.

look at the way he phrases it.... "he shifts at 3rpm then goes down to 2 rpm then car goes" .... thats typical driving right there... tell me by reading that u can tell me what the problem is??? also what car chirps??? if the tires spin then it squells.... if the BOV blows it makes a pshhhh sound.. unless ur civics are different than mines and makes a chirp sound when u REDLINE then i would like to what makes ur car chirp
