Copper O-Ring the cyl Sleeves ?

I did a quick serach and didnt find anything on this subject. I know its used alot on other applications has anyone ever had it done to a D17 or thought about getting it done? It seems like the D17 can only handle 10 psi ? or less on the head gasket. Im wondering what kind of Boost we could handle with a copper O-ringed sleeve similar to photo below? Got the idea from recent hondatuning magazine article.

So what ya all think yes, no maybe?

Ya know, I was thinking about this option for people since everyone keeps popping the gaskets. It's a great seal, BUT if you have any detonation, the weakest link is the item that always breaks. In most cases it is the head gasket. If you seal it with an o-ring like mentioned, the next thing to go would most likely be the piston.... Which would you rather have to do, replace the gasket or the piston?.... Just food for thought, but if tuned properly, they are an ideal solution....

Well assuming you were going thru the cost to o-ring it you prolly would upgrade pistons at same time. Im just trying to get the idea out incase its been overlooked, and maybe for myself at a future date

I got my headgasket brand new for $190, and me and a friend did it ourself. Just take your time and its about a 3-4 hour job in the garage. If you know how to basic things to your motor then you can do it. Just have someone there whos done it before in case you run into problems, like me and my massive oil spill, opps

$190? Good god.

You can get them for $22.67+ $7.something in shipping from Majestic Honda online. Takes about two hours to do the swap, it's really easy.

So did you get the headgasket made out of stronger materials?

Let us know, we may want replicas if the headgasket is better.

i got mine out of a nippon/steel based metal. Its suppossed to be good for well over 30psi...so even though i'll never hit that amount of boost i know i should be safe. If not, i have a lifetime warranty which always is awesome
