wrecked donor cars
i dont know where to put this...so its going here
i know hawk and people have talked about how they got their engine from a donor car, but how does one get a donor car...why would some one give their car away when its wrecked if the engine is worth a 1/4 of the price of the car
is there anyone out there in the midwest that i could talk to or does anyone know of anyone where i can get a donor car...i know u cant just ask for a car, and its all luck really, but how does one stumble upon one
thanks for the help...and please refrain from the flames
if you dont know or dont wnat to help, dont post

i think your thinking of donor in the wrong way. By saying donor it means like a heart donor. You know someone dies and there heart is taken out of them and put in someone that needs it.
When a car is totaled, the insurance company pays the person that wrecked it what the car is worth. Then the wrecked car is bought by a junkyard/or auction, from the insurance company. Or if the person who wrecked it is smart, they can by the car back from the insurance company for a couple hundered bucks and part it out.
Just look around local junkyards, or even auto auctions if you know anyone that can go to them. I got mine from a guy that bought it from a auction.

If you just want an engine, I know a guy that sells a lot of D17 engines in good condition.
If you want a complete, or almost complete car, you're just going to have to check your local junkyards and impound lots.
