porting intake manifold?
I'm planning to get my TB bored out, so I was wondering if it's possible for me to port match the IM where they bolt together. I think the opening and entire manifold is plastic, but would it be possible to use a dremel to make the opening larger? I think it's only like 1mm bigger bore.

Okay thanks. Cause if I get the TB ported, then what's the point if the IM is still smaller? I guess it would still help maybe.

jk ... but I dunno if doing it to a plastic im would be a good idea since small plastic chips might get sucked into the engine ...

Haha yeah. I don't like the idea of plastic going into the manifold. I guess I could try a dremel if I somehow tape off the bottom part. Hmmm. I don't know what dezod is talking about with intake imports
But I'm referring to where the TB and IM meet.

I would suggest taking the intake manifold out to do this. There will be no risk of getting the bad stuff in your engine. 1mm should not be a problem at the base. A dremel would be the best tool for the job.

Heh. No way am I taking off the IM. So I guess it's dremel time with an extension cord. It's also gonna be hard to port match without making some kind of outline. Oh well, I'll probably have a diy for you when I do it.

I'm expecting gains, hopefully by letting in more air than normal. This will help with the ported head setup. The DH one will probably lose power since it's so huge. The pro I'm sending to is maybe gonna bore mine 1mm. So from 59mm to 60mm, which is pretty good all around. Comes with new brass valve and all, plus I don't lose any sensors/cruise.
