Rearranging engine bay for IC piping
Earlier today I was mocking up my IC so I could take some measurements to fab up some brackets. While I had the hood up and bumper off, I was trying to visualize how I am gonna run my IC pipes. My IC is in one side and out the other. My two main concerns are the lower radiator hose on the passenger side and a couple of power steering hoses on the driver side. I was just wondering if anyone who has their charge pipe on the driver side had to remount the power steering hoses, or if most of you just kind of pushed them aside.

I am pushing mine down - when I finally get my stuff done I'll make sure to take photos....The hard thing to fix is going to be the windshield washer bottle - you have to remove it to route the piping up the drivers side. Still don't know what I am going to do with it yet.

lol yay! I'm taking out my windshield washer bottle because I can't use my windshield sprayers, due to my CF hood..
I look at it as a way to have a nice intercooler setup, and a stage 1 weight reduction.

Sorry, I don't have a digital camera handy. I already took out my washer bottle.
Opto, did you remove the power steering brackets on the shock tower?
I'll try to get a digital camera for later this week when I am going to do another mock up. Or you guys can just go outside and pop your hoods.

Just so the guys with an EX know, you're pretty much screwed coming up the driver's side of the engine bay. You've got a huge ABS bracket and pump thingy there and there's not a whole lot of room to get charge pipes by it.
and there lies the problem i have been trying to solve all this time. i have an ex and i can't figure out how to run the charge pipe. the only way i can think of is to run the pipe under the ic. someone with and ex and this setup please post up some pics...

i too am doing this type of intercooler setup for my new custom turbo kit...i just got my ic yesterday so when i put it on, i will take pics and post them
if you do have an EX i do not suggest going up to the throttle body with the charge pipe by way of the drivers side. Its a pain in the *** like taz757 said. If you have to go that way because of the inlets being on both sides of your intercooler then good luck, and hopefully you'll find a path that doesnt drag, interfer with anything, or cause flow problems from your intercooler
Damnit... Has anyone with an EX actually sucessfully made the chargepipes fit on both ends of the FMIC? Because that really ruins my day alot.

I'd prefer a straight-through IC, instead of an in-out on the same side of the IC. It just doesn't seem as efficient doing it that way. I'd really like to see how it was run up the drivers side.
Now I know how they did it!
They took and put the turbo backwards of what everybody else is doing it. The exhuast side of the turbo is pointing towards the drivers side, so basically the turbo is sitting on top of the manifold, instead of hanging down. This will allow you to run the exhaust piping over and down without having to screw with your ABS or whatever.
Not too sure about the AC compressor though. Living here in VA, I can't afford to *not* have AC.

I would'nt go back under the intercooler, thats what i did. and my turbo lag is rediculous!!!!!!!!! cuz of the bend coming out of the driverside pipe. and also the facia wont fit back on u have to cut out the bottom section of it to make it fit. and it doesnt look good @ all.
btw: i actually had some idiot say it was a intake. i almost slapped him!!!!!

supermex's car has the "normal" charge pipe routing, but the pictures arent that good. you cant see exactly how the pipe is comming from the turbo. http://www.kissimmeemotorsports.com/

people have this common misconception that the SF same side pipes is normal, its junk, opposite side inlet and outlet on the IC is the quote normal to me as they would say, thats why I DID IT MY WAY
