My parents have agreed to get me a turbo for a graduation gift.
I am just wondering if it's worth it on my auto 2001 ex coupe.
I was wondering what is a turbo kit/setup that can get me atleast 200 whp? t3/4 t25,t28? I want to run at a decent psi without blowing anything. I know the odds are against me. What kind of mods do I need to make the engine stronger?
I know I will need to make some tranny modifications and I need suggestions there also.I have a catback and a testpipe.I would also like to know the most boost and the most hp known for a boosted auto. I have searched, but I want to know what's best for me. EDUCATED opinions and advice are greatly appreciated. Thanks. - X

T3/4 @8-9lbs would probably give you those numbers. I'd suggest a T25bb for an auto because it's fully spooled around 2.5k. Also a TSI tranny cooler (sportcompactonly.com), forged pistons and rods.

I think an auto can do better with the right setup.

Bleh T28bb any day of the week, to bad they arn't found normally on alot of kits. To my friend who started this thread, you shoulda read up on all the 1 million auto turbo threads our there. If you want 200 whp, you can kiss your sorry auto tranny goodby, even with a tranny cooler (I have an auto so dont hate lol). If your gonna stay with your civic and stay with an auto traner, just be happy with 156 whp outta dezods kit, even thoguh I don't totally agree with his t3/4 choice, what can i say, turbo kits arnt growing on trees for our car.
if i was u, i would probably find a k20a2 for the same money that the turbo is goin to cost u, u'd probably get better number out of the k20a2 witha 6 speed manual tranny, currect me if im wrong and its safer :P

I mean, i love my civic..........but my craving for speed is just too much. For me to get faster, i would have to dump alot more money into my car and it still will not be reliable and my car is a daily driver and i can't afford the downtime. A boosted 7thgen is fast and is fun, but not worth the thousands and thousands of dollars that we put into it. Entirely too much manitenance with blown HG's and smoked pistons and rings. You can only give it so much power and b4 you lose traction.
My next car in a few yrs will be a Evo or STi or something equivalent at that time.

I don't care if I get a new or used car.
I Am thinking about these: Evo,Celica,Prelude,Teg Type R,RSX-S,MR-2 TT,240SX,300ZX, or a 6th Gen with a b16 or B18 in it.

this regards the comments to spider. Not everyone has the funds to simply go out and buy a new car and do a **** load of mods. i already know that u know civics have potenial like ur old si. With the money he spends on a new car he could swap a k20a2 and probably build it and that will be fast. Plus depending on the car insurance will be a bitch and if the person is young then he will probably have to pay montly if he plans to get a new car.

civic is great for me with college soon and the great gas milage it gets and it is worry free.
but this thread isnt about me, if i were you jx6, id go get a k20a3 (since theyre the cheaper ones) and then go from there
