cai with k-series/em2 swap?
cai with k-series/em2 swap?
is anyone here running a cai with a k-series motor in their em2 civic? if so, were there any modifications done to make it fit? it just seems like we don't much room at all for anything but a short-ram.

my injen short ram has a heat sheild on it, so the heat from the exhaust manifold really doesn't effect it....just a thought. But anyone who knows me knows i'm anti CAI

Yeah I was looking at a CAI for my Type S, but I don't want ot have to cut away on my new car. Hahaa. So does the V2 really suck that bad? I was looking into that one. Well that or the Injen SRI.

^^^^^^^They are. If you get the Injen CAI they give you a smaller windshield washer bottle so the CAI fits around it. If you get a AEM CAI you have to relocated the windshield washer bottle to the passenger side and extend the lines. And on both you have to cut a section of your inner fender lining out. So thats why I'm not leaning towards a CAI for my two day old RSX. hahaha

just thought i'd point out that in most tests i've seen CAI's only gained like 1 more HP than any short ram has, really doesn't seem worth the hastle.

i'd say maybe a cai if you were going to build the high end a lot (DC5 IM, cams, hondata R flash) but otherwise they don't seem to be worth it.
buy the mugen box, it's only what, $500 for an intake?

any civic si intake should fit our car with a K motor in it. Or engine bay is the same dimensions as the EP3

Nah i haven't really had the funds to do anything to it yet. Just been autocrossing it, basically beating on it. Nuthing has gone wrong in over 3k miles so i can't complain. except i get like 30 less miles on my tank....bah oh well, i'll deal it with for the loads of extra power

The only thing I don't like about the AEM is that I have to relocate the Windshield washer bottle from the driver side to the passennger side and extened the lines. I'm just not too sure if i want to do all of that. ahaha

I'm running the same oil you are, with k&n oil filter. I'm short on funds as well, i've only taken it to the track once, but i hope to go auto-x sometime in the near future
