can't your piping bend then if you hit a bump or on speed bumps?

my piping is routed between the core support and sub frame with 2" pipe. it was very tight but we made it fit.

so for spool time is it better to get an intercooler that has inlet and outlet on the same end like the sf? because now johnnyracecar.com is selling an intercooler that looks like the sf but at a much better price.

im not saying either is better. but the straighter the pipe the better the flow and less turbo lag. if u have an lx or lower you'll have no problem (no abs in the way). if not ur screwed. lol

the only problem with the johnny race car same end intercooler is that it's 12" high. is that way too big to fit behind the bumper??

I think your a little confused or mistyped. Lag is a function of proper turbo size and motor displacement. It has nothing to do with the I/C. The I/C creates DRAG which steals a fraction of the total PSI being pushed out because of improper sizing of the I/C to the vehicle, turbo and displacement. True the straighter the pipe the better, bends can be made, but think of your airflow as a massive crowd of 1,000,000 people trying to run to one place. The mobb doesn't flow through sharp turns, but slowing narrowing smooth curves help a lot.

Edit: The I/C helps turbo efficiency due to temperature drops. On average a properly sized I/C should drop temps 40-60%.
