info on JE pistons
Ifa turbo motor makes it a while, with rough treatment without losing compression or making a racket, what more than that can you use as a measure of what it can handle? Why would you bother to tear it down? if the compressions there, and it sound alright, what are you suggesting?

To be fair to the thread starter, I am editing this to keep it open. Sorry about that...

I haven't seen anyone throw a rod through a piston yet either, but I haven't seen anyone on here run 10 psi boost and drive hard for 25K miles either. Besides, engines are designed such that the head gasket will blow before the internal go (usually it works).
Bigshooter1979 ~ you asked, I gave you what the engineers at Honda designed it for. Can it handle more than that, maybe. But it wasn't intended to and thus is not built to handle more than that and the people that engineered the motor DID test it to that point and turn down the motor before it went into production. But look around and find people running turbos on the stock bottom D17's and ask what their next upgrade is going to be, I'm betting their going to say internals, so how many people on this sight have run 25K or even 15K miles on 10 psi? or even 8 psi?
