T25 or T3\T04E turbo ????

after reading another thread on turbo stuff on this site it got me thinking. okay would i want a decent size turbo .... like a T3/T04E that would give me some turbo lag. but would be better over all top end. or would i prefer to go with a T25 from a GST or talon. which would spool up rather quickly but not be good at top end. and with my setup i wish to break the 200hp range. also i'm not cutting corners with this setup ... low compression pistons and rods .. with a port and polished head are gonna be put on as well. so the real decision is T25 or T3/T4 ... i can't make up my mind now

ya im wonderin the same thing. only think makin me want the t3/t4 over the t25 is that i would probally want more power in the future and this way i would have to get a whole new turbo for that.

yea .... your thread about the talon T25 is what made me start thinking. i know if i did the low comp. pistons and rods with a pnp head i should be putting down some serious numbers. so i dont think a T25 would hold up to the amount of power i want in the long end.

ya another thing is how much money you wanna spend initially. you can get a talon turbo for $50 and with a $100 rebuild kit it would be brand new, while a a good t3/t4 can cost anywhere from $500-800

well i can afford both setups actually .. but there's other things to add to the mix .. my 5spd swap .. built bottom end with internals. and yea a brand new garrett T25 w/ internal wastegate is like 250 compared to the t3/t04e that was 550 without a wastegate

i'm leaning towards the T25 just because i can get instant boost and dont have to worry about turbo lag

What about the GT28? I saw one for around $800 the other day. You could probably find them for even cheaper than that. If you aren't worried about price, that's not that much more expensive than the hybrids.

By 3,500 rpm I am fully spooled on my T3 super 60. Not much turbo lag if you have the right setup.
