TSI Extreme Turbo Kit w/ T28 BB!?

I need some help with this. I did a search and came up with some people saying that this kit will only produce 160-180whp at 6-7psi. However, this was with the T25 Dual BB turbo. My friend is who I am posting for has a 2003 Civic EX, he just ordered the TSI Extreme kit only he got the T28, which is IMO much better than the T25. I would know because I used to have a 2g DSM which came stock with T25 and I upgraded to a T28 and it was a significant difference.

Anyway, is the MAX boost he can run 6psi? That is what it says on the sight is safe to run. Is there a fuel pump he must get to run more boost? I know the kit comes with extra injectors and fuel control but what else is needed to make some real extra power?

Right now his mods are, 2.5 catback, NO cat, AEM cam gear, AEM pullies. Plus now he will have the turbo kit.

I appreciate any helpful feedback!

StreetLevelPerformance is on a distinguished road
He doesn't need a fuel pump to run more he needs to modify his settings in the fuel unit and buy a boost controller.

What else is needed to make "real power" is upping the boost and the fuel as someone else mentioned. But....just to warn you...on a turbo that size, the numbers that they are giving you for that amount of PSi sounds just about right. Chances are, you'll be seeing somewhere around 185whp at 8psi. That's just what these cars are known to make at that psi and on that size (+/-) turbo.

He has a manual boost controller on the way. I didnt know the "max" boost he could run with that set-up. The T25 I think is just too small, T28 isnt big enough either but much better than the T25.

Also, you said the numbers they are giving you for that amount of PSI sounds about right, well those numbers were with the T25 with the kit. I was asking primarily about the T28 BB turbo.

I have a T28 and at 8psi dyno'd at 188whp and 171lb ft, and in my opinion its damn fast. I think the T28 or a T3 is the perfect turbo, they're fast spooling and can easily support 200whp, and in a civic thats very good considering stock its almost a 100whp gain. I think the t25 can run up to 11psi or so, but not more than that. BUt without upgrading internals and a headgasket i wouldnt even touch that. Remember, a d17 is no 4g63

No 4G63 for sure! What other mods did you have to achieve that power on the dyno? Still running a cat? 6psi from the kit seems a little weak so we were going to bring it to the dyno and turn it up a little bit (safely of course) watching the for detonation.

I have a 2.5" exhaust, with a random technoloy hi flow cat, i replaced the head gasket, and i have a 63mm custom throttle body, next month i'll be dyno'ing my car again at 10psi with a custom intake manifold and 3" exhaust piping, and JE pistons(maybe if the're here by then). Hopefully be near 220whp. I wouldnt run over 6.5psi without any kind of alcohol injection or race fuel, high octane of course. I dont know anyone on the site running over 6psi w/o alcohol injection, if anyone is...its bad, real bad
