So it's been about 8 months since i dropped my car at KMS. Well, it's finally done, seriously this time... well, almost. I am supposed to pick it up this thursday. He's done a lot to the car... fabricated crap for it too. Numbers should be over 300whp easy after I get it tuned, then break it in, and then dyno it. Only problem I am having is that there is a stupid CEL, still, from the vafc-1. I'm taking that off and giving it to my friend that's got a prelude to replace it with the greddy emanage. Only thing I am really worried about is driving it 1 hour back to my house from his shop so I can install the emanage and then having to drive it back up to the dyno/tune place to get it tuned before i start breaking in the engine... about 1000 miles break in... How big is the risk of driving my car untuned? As long as there's no CEL it should be ok, right? I am probably wrong... What would you do? Could it be tuned temporarily with the vafc so it will be safe driving it for the break in period and then add the emanage then dyno for more tuning/numbers? Any suggestions?

if you were only driving it down the street i would say u could do that untuned aslong as u dont go about 2k rpm but an hour drive deffinetly not.. get it towned on a flatbed truck.. but why not just install the emanage at that shop and tune it instead of driving back and forth just to install the emange

if you have all that done why not just install the AEM EMS... that way you will have full engine managment.. yes it cost another 1k but i think its well worth it

because it costs 1k. if i did all that to my car why not get a used m3?
i dunno, i already ordered the emanage... so... i havent heard of anyone using the aem ems yet.. so i guess i am biased towards emanage...

Well I know everyone says they'll post up some dyno sheets. I am supposed to go to a Dyno meet this sunday.
Not sure if the car will be tuned or not in time for the show, but if it is, it should be decent. I'll post up either way.

There's nothing to break in? Engine's already running, just adding the emanage with all the harnesses, and the ntercooler kit for that extra kick.
